Physician Biographies

Romulo Fajardo, MD

Romulo Fajardo, MD Dr. Romulo Fajardo is Board Certified in Internal Medicine. He brings more than 15 years of experience in both hospital and private practice settings. Dr. Fajardo earned his Doctor of Medicine at the University of Santo Thomas in Manila, Philippines. He then completed an internship at Philippine General Hospital, also in Manila. After practicing for several years in the Philippines, Dr. Fajardo moved to Jamaica, New York, where he completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Catholic Medical Center. In addition, Dr. Fajardo has completed a Fellowship in Hematology/Oncology, which makes him Board Eligible for certification in Hematology/Oncology.

Mario Hernandez, MD

Romulo Fajardo, MD Dr. Augusto Hernandez earned his Medicine degree at the Nacional University of Columbia, Bogata, Colombia in 1983. He completed his Family Residency Program at Bella Vista Hospital in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico. Prior to beginning his career in family practice, Dr. Hernandez held a number of medical positions including Emergency Department Director and Emergency Physician at San Pedro Claver Hospital, San Pedro Claver, Bogata, Columbia.

Galileo Molina, MD

Dr. Galileo Molina, MD Dr. Galileo Molina has treated patients in Southwest Virginia since 1976. Often seeing emergency patients who have exhibited critical injuries, Dr. Molina has helped countless people in this region. After earning his Doctor of Medicine at Far Eastern University in Manila, Philippines, Dr. Molina completed surgical residences in the Philippines and the United States. He was a Fellow of Medicine at Goldwater Memorial Hospital, an affiliate of New York University Medical Center, in New York, New York. Dr. Molina is a member of the American College of Emergency Physicians as well as the Medical Society of Virginia.

Aghnes Sabugo, MD

Romulo Fajardo, MD Dr. Bolusa-Sabugo is a 1996 graduate of the University of the East Ramon Magsaysay Memorial Medical Center in Quezon City, Philippines. She completed her Residency at the Makati Medical Center – Internal Medicine in Makati City, Philippines in 2001 and at St. Clare’s Hospital Family Practice Residency Program in Schenectady, New York in 2008. Dr. Bolusa-Sabugo has served previously as a Primary Care Physician and has earned a number of certifications including Advanced Life Support Obstetrics and Pediatric Advanced Life Support.

Souhail Shamiyeh, MD, FACP, CMD

Souhail Shamiyeh, MD Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine and the American Board of Geriatric Medicine, Dr. Souhail Shamiyeh brings compassionate healthcare to the patients of Wise Medical Group. In addition to his expertise as a medical doctor, Dr. Shamiyeh breaks language barriers with fluency in English and Arabic as well as some German and French.

Sudama S. Tholpady, MD

Dr. Sudama Tholpady, MD Dr. S. S. Tholpady has provided excellent medical care to residents of Southwest Virginia since 1975. Dr. Tholpady is Board Certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine. He earned his Doctor of Medicine degree in India prior to completing his medical residencies in Internal Medicine at Episcopal Hospital in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and Bronx-Lebanon Hospital in Bronx, New York. Dr. Tholpady also completed a Cardiology Fellowship at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital. He joined Wise Medical Group in July 2008.

April Stidham, FNP

Dr. April Stidham, FNP April Stidham is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners. After working as a nurse in a hospital setting for 15 years, Ms. Stidham earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 1997. Since then, she has worked as a Family Nurse Practitioner with Wellmont Physician Services. Ms. Stidham sees a broad array of patients – ranging from late adolescence to geriatric individuals. She sees patients for health maintenance visits as well as acute and chronic health problems. In addition to patient care, Ms. Stidham also works to train student nurses. She is currently an adjunct faculty member for King College and has served as a faculty member for the University of Virginia at Wise.
