Physician Biographies
David Miller, MD
Board certified in Internal Medicine, Hematology and Medical Oncology, Dr. David Miller brings 33 years of expertise in cancer care to patients of Southwest Virginia Regional Cancer Center. Dr. Miller completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, D.C. He has also completed fellowships at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Hematology and the National Cancer Institute in Bethesda, Md. in Medical Oncology. In addition to providing excellent care to his patients, Dr. Miller is a clinical investigator with the Southeast Cancer Control Consortium. He is an active member of the American College of Physicians, the American Society of Clinical Oncology and the American Medical Association.

DARYL W. PIERCE, MD
Dr. Daryl Pierce received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center in Shreveport, La., in 1995. He received medical degrees in preliminary medicine and internal medicine at Milton S. Hershey Medical Center – Pennsylvania State University in Hershey, Pa., in 1998 and his fellowship in hematology/oncology in 2001.
Dr. Pierce is board certified in oncology, hematology and internal medicine.

A 2000 graduate of East Tennessee State University with a Master of Science in Nursing, Kelley Duncan Mayden is an Advanced Oncology Certified Nurse Practitioner and a Licensed Family Nurse Practitioner. Prior to joining Wellmont, she had a broad range of nursing experience including Senior Primary Nurse/Oncology Nurse Educator for Mountain States Health Alliance in Johnson City, Tennessee, and Oncology/Hematology Nurse Practitioner at Blue Ridge Medical Specialists, P.C. in Bristol, Tennessee. Most recently she was employed as an Oncology/Hematology Nurse Practitioner at McLeod Cancer Blood Center in Johnson City, Tennessee and is presently at Southwest Virginia Cancer Center in Norton, Virginia.
