About

Holston Valley Medical Center is the first Kingsport hospital to offer high risk services. Dr. Lodeiro’s office, Kingsport Perinatology, is conveniently located on the Holston Valleycampus.

Also known as maternal-fetal medicine, Perinatology is a subspecialty of obstetrics that has proven its value in the care of mothers and their unborn babies during complicated pregnancies.

Women may be at increased risk for
pregnancy-related complications if they have:

• High blood pressure
• Diabetes
• Lupus
• Any other medical condition that could be affected
by pregnancy or that could affect pregnancy.
• Multiple gestations
• History of PTL
• Fetal development problems
• Advanced maternal age

Perinatal services include:

• Pre-conceptual counseling
• First trimester screening and combined Quad screening
• Comprehensive fetal monitoring
• Prenatal diagnosis

Dr. Lodeiro may also utilize such testing as: Amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.

Through it all, he will work closely with the physician and the patient to protect mother and baby’s health throughout the pregnancy.
