Physician Biographies

Steven J. Baumrucker, MD, FAAFP, FAANPM

Steven J. Baumrucker, MD, is Board Certified in both Family Medicine and Hospice and Palliative Medicine. Dr. Baumrucker earned his medical degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 1986, and he has practiced in the Tri-Cities region since performing his residency here.

In addition to working with patients to develop individualized palliative care programs, Dr. Baumrucker is the Palliative Care Medical Director for Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center. He also serves as Editor in Chief for the American Journal of Hospice and Palliative Care.

Beyond his board certifications, Dr. Baumrucker is a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Practice and a Fellow of the American Academy of Hospice and Palliative Medicine.
