Physician Biographies

Landon S. Combs, MD, FAAP, FSCP

Certified by the American Board of Pediatrics, Dr. Landon Combs has brought gentle care to Gray Station Primary Care for over six years. Additionally, Dr. Combs serves in several leadership positions in professional organizations. He is currently President of the Sullivan County Medical Society and a delegate to the American Medical Association for the Tennessee Medical Association.  Dr. Combs is also an Associate Professor in the Department of Pediatrics at East Tennessee State University.

Stephen P. Combs, MD, FACFE, FAAP, FSCP

For over a decade, Dr. Stephen Combs has worked as a pediatric medical doctor. For the past seven years, Dr. Combs has provided pediatric care through Gray Station Primary Care. Dr. Combs serves as Chief of Staff at Wellmont Holston Valley Medical Center and is affiliated with several professional medical organizations such as the American Academy of Pediatrics and the Society of Clinical Pediatrics. In addition, Dr. Combs is a Clinical Professor of Pediatrics at East Tennessee State University. Dr. Combs is Vice President for Medical Affairs at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Michael Thornsberry, MD

Dr. Michael Thornsberry has joined Jonesborough Medical Associates as a family physician. Dr. Thornsberry received his medical degree from the University of Missouri at Columbia and completed his family medicine residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He has also completed additional training in ophthalmology. Dr. Thornsberry is a fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Thornsberry is available at Gray Station Primary Care on Wednesdays, as well as half days on Tuesday and Thursday. For the remainder of the week, Dr. Thornsberry can be reached at the Jonesborough Medical Associates office.

Secondary Provider Biographies

Wendy Chartier, FNP

Wendy Chartier joined Gray Station Primary Care as a family nurse practitioner in April 2005. She sees both pediatric and adult patients, and she has special interest in providing health education to patients.

Prior to joining the practice, Wendy worked as a registered nurse in the Birthplace at Holston Valley Medical Center.

Wendy is licensed in the state of Tennessee and certified by the American Nurse Credentialing Center. She earned both her Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing and her Master’s of Science in Nursing at East Tennessee State University. Wendy is an active member of the Northeast Tennessee Nurse Practitioner
Association.
